2 cups/500 mL all-purpose flour
1 cup/250 mL salt
2 Tbsp/30 mL Watkins Cream of Tartar
2 ½ cups/625 mL water
¼ tsp/1.2 mL Watkins Food Coloring
2 Tbsp/30 mL cooking oil
Watkins Extracts of choice: Anise, Peppermint, Almond, Strawberry, Orange, Banana, Coconut
Combine dry ingredients in a saucepan. Add water and oil. Heat stirring constantly until the dough comes away from the side of the pan and forms a ball. Cool. Divide in half and knead in
food coloring and 1 tsp/5 mL extract of choice until smooth. Store in a plastic bag or container in the refrigerator. Keeps for months! Makes 4 cups.

Food Coloring Tips:
- Add to icings and glazes for colorful decorating
- Add 1/2 tsp/2.5 mL to packaged white cake mixes for colorful cakes
- Dye Easter eggs by combining 1/2 cup/125 mL boiling water, 1 tsp/5 mL vinegar & 1/4 tsp/1.2 mL Watkins Food Coloring of choice. Dip eggs into dye for at least 5 minutes or until desired color.
