Fireside Chili


2 tablespoons Watkins Original Grapeseed Oil
2 pounds lean beef chuck, cut into 1/4 inch cubes
2 cups chopped onion
3 tablespoons Watkins Beef Soup Base
3 tablespoons Watkins Chili Powder
2 tablespoons Watkins Inferno Hot Pepper Sauce
2 teaspoons Watkins Oregano
2 teaspoons Watkins Garlic Flakes
2 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans, undrained
1 (16 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, undrained

In Dutch oven, brown beef and onion in hot oil. Stir in all remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Serve with your favorite toppings.

Makes 6 servings.

Chipotle Chicken Stew

Family meals are making a comeback. For several reasons, shared meals tend to be more nutritious and provide families with a chance to reconnect after a hectic day. They give both children and adults a chance to touch base and to enjoy being with one another. Enjoy the benefits of bonding with your family while you enjoy this delicious dish.

2 tbsp-4 tbsp/30 mL-60 mL
Watkins Chipotle Liquid Spice
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 carrot, chopped (or one cup
of mini-carrots chopped)
1 small onion, chopped
1 can (14.5 oz/410 mL) chopped
tomatoes
3 cups/750 mL Watkins Chicken
Soup Base, broth recipe
1/2 tsp/2 mL Watkins Thyme
1 lb/450 g of boneless & skinless
chicken breasts, chopped
1 can (15 oz/425 mL) kidney
beans
Watkins Black Pepper, to taste
Watkins Seasoning Salt, to taste

1. Heat liquid spice in a 5 1/2 quart/ 5.2 litre saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add celery, carrot, and onion. Sauté the vegetables until theonion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
3. Stir in tomatoes (with juices), chicken broth, and thyme.
4. Add chicken breasts, cooking through, about 25 minutes.
5. Add kidney beans and simmer until the liquid has reduced to a stew consistency, about 10minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Ladle stew into serving bowls.
